When Luther and Tina Harrelson’s home burned to the ground, they were afraid they had no where to go with their five-year-old son Nathaniel.

Your contributions to United Way of Rockingham County gave them a chance to start over. Through the United Way funded Disaster Services program, the Rockingham County Chapter of the American Red Cross was able to give the Harrelsons vouchers for food and clothing, as well as shelter in a local hotel.

The Red Cross also helped them with their first month’s rent so they could begin to recover from the tragedy of losing their home.

Together, we have given $222,421 to provide basic needs of food, shelter, clothing and utilities for Rockingham County citizens in need.
