Mrs. Ophelia Price did not want to leave the house that she and her late husband built so many years ago. But after her husband passed away, her health began to deteriorate steadily.
She found it more and more difficult to prepare a nutritious meal for herself. So her family convinced her to call the Council on Aging and ask about receiving Meals on Wheels.
This United Way funded program helps older adults like Mrs. Price rest assured they are getting at least one nutritious meal a day.
Your contributions help older adults stay more alert and continue living in the place they call home.
Together, we have given $73,100 to enable older adults to live in dignity and to support their independence.
United Way of Rockingham County proudly supports the following organizations to meet these needs:
-Caregivers of Rockingham County
-Madison-Mayodan Recreation Commission
-Rockingham County Council on Aging (Meals
on Wheels)
